Perfection in bells - it is like classical music when most others if not all sound like klaxons...the sound is the best you will ever hear and for the longest and now with a wider range of extremely pretty finishes, colours and sizes there is choice to everybody.
I've tested a ton of bicycle bells and there's no question this one is the most audible, despite wind noise, and keeps everyone around me the safest when I'm riding.
I received a Spurcycle bell from a friend and loved it so much I got one for my brother. I swear it sounds even better than mine, and the color is absolutely gorgeous! The finish flawless! The bell itself was easy to install. So glad I was turned on to this bell!
This is my second spurcycle bell and I'm pretty much sold on the quality. My first one is a few years old and rings the same as it did on day one. A nice piercing yet friendly ding. The color scheme works well with a rebuild I'm doing and the quality is the same as my other bell. Love it! Very useful with my urban cycling route on the way to work, lots of pedestrians and they can definitely hear it (unless the AirPods are in lol)
Absolutely beautiful bell. It’s like the cherry on top of the best dessert! Gets people’s attention for sure! The only suggestion we have for the company is to include the mounting tool needed at this price point! We have a very hectic schedule and had to wait to install until we had time to shop for the 2.5mm tool.
This bell has fantastic volume and clarity. It sounds great! Drivers can hear me inside their sound-proofed, heavy metal boxes, which is essential. I’ve twice had a car literally back in to me while I was ringing away at lesser, stock bells. This just doesn’t cut it for safety in an urban setting.
Second, something you might not think about until you experience it: this bell performs great in the rain. The stock bell that came on my newest bike was criminally unable to handle rain. The water drops on its thin metal body dampened the sound *substantially*, reducing it to little more than a brief, flimsy “tink” sound. Probably due to the much more substantial brass body (i.e. more massive), this bell does not care about the rain, and continues to ring at high volume and clarity when wet. Rain can be particularly dangerous for cyclists, with increased stopping distance and reduced visibility for us and for drivers, so it feels unconscionable for other manufacturers to overlook this critical use-case for their products. This bell is a must have if you cycle in the rain.
The only recommendation I have for the manufacturers centers around my interactions with pedestrians. The bell is so loud when the hammer is pulled all the way back that I sometimes feel that it’s rude to ring at walkers and joggers so assertively. There’s a knack to learn how to pull the hammer back just enough for a “half strength” ring. Definitely possible, but I’ll regularly under-shoot and the hammer won’t connect with the body. Call this over-engineering, but if the hammer had a tactile indication of where that “half strength” sweet spot was, wow that would be amazing.
So yeah, in summary, phenomenal product. The build quality is great and the performance is peerless in my experience. I’ve bought four as gifts for my cycling friends. It’s that good.
It tone of the bell is a bold, but not offensive way to let others of your location. Be it, coming up behind hikers or riders to not startle them or to just let out a happy ding ding to let the World know you are stoked or even to maybe even produce a Ding to make a child smile.
Excellent sounding bell. I have another that has been on my bike for many years. No rust and still rings true. Also, excellent customer service with quick responses.

I have admitted these bells - and I finally got one. The sound is lovely and I’m really enjoying it. Beautifully made.
I'd never pay anywhere close to what these go for retail for a bell that's similar in price to higher end bike tires, but I managed to pick one off an abandoned bike in my neighborhood that I've watched sit for over a year. Easy to remove and easy to install in broad daylight! Even with some rust built up inside, it rings well! 5 stars for quality, 2 stars for price.
I had been looking for a bell for my bikes after adding some rail trails to my rides. There were a bunch of inexpensive options on different sites, but I was interested in something more unique. I came across the Original Bell from Spurcycle and decided to pull the trigger. The bell is expensive, but it is super classy and the build quality is there. The bell also has a small form factor which keeps handlebar crowding to a minimum. The bell has a great sound that persists. I think anyone that gets a Spurcycle bell will be happy with their purchase.
Solid sounding loud little bell that keeps ringing for quite some time. My only complaint is that the little handle you push down on can feel slightly uncomfortable on the finger tips if you ring it consecutively in succession. Maybe a little soft optional pillow top might help discomfort especially if you are on rides like critical mass where the celebratory nature may have you ringing your bell MANY times in one ride

It has a very pleasing sound perfect for warning, but not frightening pedestrians.
The plunger part of the bell sits a little too far from the bell, and the spring is slightly weak, so not quite the impact of the bell I was hoping for,and difficult to engage the bell at times unless I get the plunger set just right with my finger while riding
